HOW WE WORK

From project records.
To owner decisions.

A practical engagement built around the owner’s questions, the project’s records and a clear path to action.

OUR APPROACH

How the work
comes together.

Our job is to make the project easier to understand and the next decision easier to make.

We work from the information that governs the project, identify what needs attention and keep matters visible until there is a clear outcome.

THE CLIENT EXPERIENCE

Four straightforward steps.

Simple to follow. Disciplined in practice.

01↗

Understand.

Start with the project, the owner’s priorities and the decisions ahead.

02⌕

Confirm.

Review the current information. Separate what is known from what remains open.

03◎

Keep it current.

Follow the issues, approvals and decisions as the project changes.

04✓

Make it useful.

Give decision-makers a clear summary of what matters and what comes next.

WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE

What a useful
update should show.

Suppose turnover is scheduled next week. The schedule is important, but it cannot answer every question about readiness.

A useful owner update shows what has been confirmed, what remains open and the next decision, without forcing the reader to reconstruct the whole project.

Illustrative situation only. No actual project records or proprietary tools are shown.

EXAMPLE / TURNOVER
THE UPDATE“Turnover is scheduled for Friday.”
THE QUESTIONS
  • Is the required approval in place?
  • Is testing complete?
  • Has the owner accepted the outstanding conditions?
THE USEFUL ANSWERProceed with preparations. Keep final acceptance open until the missing requirements are confirmed.
WORKING TOGETHER

From first discussion
to final handover.

The first conversation establishes whether there is a fit. If there is, scope, responsibilities and cadence are agreed before work begins.

01 / DISCUSS

Tell us the situation.

Where the project stands, what decisions are approaching and where visibility is missing.

02 / DEFINE

Agree the work.

Set the scope, records to be reviewed, responsibilities and reporting cycle.

03 / DELIVER

Maintain the picture.

Keep the agreed issues and owner decisions current as the work develops.

04 / TRANSFER

Close the engagement clearly.

Confirm outputs, remaining issues and what the owner retains at the end.

COMMON QUESTIONS

The practical
details.

When should we bring Blacktide in?

At any point. Some engagements begin before a commitment is made. Others start during active delivery, at closeout or when several projects need a common owner view.

Does Blacktide replace our project manager?

No. Blacktide provides independent owner-side oversight within the project’s existing delivery structure. Responsibilities are defined for each engagement so the project team and decision authorities remain clear.

Do we need to prepare a large package for the first conversation?

No. We can start with the project stage and the concern. If a review proceeds, we will agree which records are needed.

How often will we receive updates?

That depends on the work. A focused review may have one defined output. Ongoing oversight may follow a weekly, biweekly or monthly cycle, with urgent issues addressed as agreed.

How are confidential records handled?

We agree the scope and the applicable confidentiality arrangements before receiving sensitive project information. The first inquiry should not include confidential or restricted documents.

Where does Blacktide work?

Blacktide serves projects across North America, with a presence in Toronto and Vancouver. Delivery arrangements depend on the engagement.

NEXT STEP

A clearer picture starts with a conversation.

We will start with the project and the decisions that need attention.
