Why this exists, and where it's going.
Blacktide was built through live capital-project governance, not as a theoretical management framework.
Where This Is Going
We are building a better way for Owners to govern capital projects.
Capital projects generate a constant flow of meetings, correspondence, schedules, decisions, and evidence. The difficulty is not simply receiving that information. It is maintaining a dependable operating position as the project changes.
Blacktide brings the project record, movement, evidence, decisions, and dependencies into a controlled governance structure. That allows Owners and leadership teams to spend less time reconstructing the project and more time making the decisions that move it forward.
The framework continues to develop through active project work. When a recurring Owner need is not addressed by an existing agenda, report, or control, Blacktide establishes the appropriate response and integrates it into the governance cycle.
Why This Exists
Who's behind Blacktide.
Nick Spisic
Principal | Managing Director | Capital Projects
Nick has spent more than two decades directing capital projects across commercial real estate and infrastructure, in vice-president and director-level roles across government, energy, healthcare, hospitality, retail, mixed-use development, industrial, and land development.
He built that judgment on programs where a single misclassified status update could cost real money before anyone caught it, and where the person with the most confidence in the room, not the most evidence, was usually the one who got believed. Blacktide exists to end that pattern. He'd rather be exacting than popular, and he built the practice that way on purpose.
Its governance framework grew out of that work rather than a theoretical exercise, and it reflects the standard Nick expects to bring to any organization he leads.
